The third edition of this book met with enormous approval in the SAP teaching community and validated the approach of providing a case study that encompassed methodology (process chains and entity-relationship modelling), business knowledge and an integrative hands-on case study implementation in SAP ECC. However, after years of experience in using the book in actual teaching, we felt that an update was indicated. Apart from a general rework, there are some major additions:
- Project-oriented manufacturing, where project management meets logistics and production
- Records management
- Additional online materials
The book now covers sales, cost accounting, materials management and procurement, SOP, MRP, production order execution and order calculation as well as planning and executing projects in manufacturing in one integrative case study. A host of free web-based material available at http://erp.wu.ac.at complements the textbook and supports lecturers using the book.
