In today`s world, universities have to become increasingly competitive and foster knowledge and innovation. This book is based on the assumption that the interaction and action- and decision-making processes have changed for universities. It presents an investigation of Quality Management in the UAE which has internationalised its tertiary education system, whereby particular emphasis is put on Quality Enhancement aims. In order to assess the country's strategies in this field, a system analysis of the political system presents the main decision-makers and its university landscape. Rankings and bibliometrical analyses assess the presented information in terms of knowledge-formation and innovative activity in quantitative terms. The results of this analysis underline the modern state of the art as well as the emergence of a new internationalised education system: While the UAE `s activities in this field are hardly visible on a global level at present, this work proves that the UAE might soon catch up and outdo other countries.
