What do I do when I am hungry in class? When do I ask a question? Teachers often assume that students know how to act in a classroom. The truth is that every strategy needs to be taught. This guide to classroom etiquette is for students, parents and teachers. Although written with elementary school in mind others may find this a quick and whimsical read reminding them of their elementary school days. All will identify with many of the 26 scenarios described in this guide. The focus is on creating a classroom climate of respect and strengthening the relationship between student-teacher-parent. Simultaneously engaging the students in thoughtful reflection of their behaviors and the effects on others.

Über Heather Orosco

Born and raised in the San Joaquin Valley of California, my parents owned a bookstore and I have always been intrigued with the written word. I received my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential through Chapman University and a master’s degree in Education from Grand Canyon University. I taught elementary school for 20 years and my two children have since grown up. Currently, I have decided to try my hand at writing, using my experience in teaching as a starting point. I am also managing my husband’s consulting business in the Silicon Valley.
