Linda Courtiss is a retired camp director and owner of Camp Vega for Girls in Fayette, Maine. Linda directed the camp for 35 years until son and daughter-in-law, Kyle and Emily Courtiss, transitioned as owners and directors. Linda chose to be a full time writer concentrating on the Chronicles of Varna. The author has told many stories of Varna over the years and 'The Night The Stuffed Animals Came Alive' is her first published work in the Varna series.

Yana Popova is an award-winning illustrator and concept artist, based in London, UK. She started developing her skills at an early age and followed an artistic path during her education. She studied Interior Design at New Bulgarian University, Sofia before deciding to concentrate full time on illustration. She currently works in the field of children's book illustration and enjoys working in both traditional and digital media using vivid and rich color schemes.
